Batang Gilas will play in the 2018 FIBA U17 World Cup from June 30 to July 8 in Rosario and Santa Fe, Argentina.

There will be 16 teams competing for the Gold Medal.

Batang Gilas, a team bannered by 7-foot teenager Kai Sotto, was drawn into Group D along with host team Argentina, European U-16 champions France, and powerhouse Croatia.

This is the second time that the Philippines will compete in the event. In 2014, Batang Gilas finished 15th among 16 teams.
