James Yap is once again the PBA's 3-point king.

Yap missed only one of 10 money balls in the final round and ended up scoring 24 big points, more than enough to beat Stanley Pringle and Terrence Romeo in the 2018 PBA Three-point Shooutout Friday at the City Sports Center, Batangas City.

Yap struggled out of the gate, making only two shots in the first rack. Fortunately, those two shots were money balls.

The Rain or Shine guard slowly picked up momentum and went 8-of-10 in the third and fourth racks, allowing him to tie Pringle's 21 points with five shots to go.

Yap took the lead after making the first money ball in the fifth rack, he made another one to push his final tally to 24 points.

Terrence Romeo only managed 16 afterwards as Yap took the title, his first since 2009 back when he was still with Purefoods.

Yap was alrady on fire in the preliminary round, topping everyone with 24 points. He went a perfect 10-of-10 in the final two racks.

Romeo scored 23 in the first round to advance while Pringle finished with 22 points in the preliminary round despite missing all five shots in the final rack.

Allein Maliksi, who entered as defending champion, didn't make it out of the first round after scoring only 11 points, the worst of the bunch.
