Archrivals Ateneo Blue Eagles and De La Salle Green Archers will clash for the first time this Season 80 on Sunday, October 8, at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Ateneo is atop the standings as the first round draws to a close at 6-0, but DLSU is just behind them at 5-1.

Defending champion La Salle bucked a shaky first round and marched to the Season 80 finals in impressive fashion. The Green Archers swept the second round of the competition, then registered a come-from-behind win over Adamson University in the final four.





Ateneo, meanwhile, came very close to squandering a 13-1 elimination round campaign in the final four. Nevertheless, the Blue Eagles still hacked out an exciting overtime win against Far Eastern University in a do-or-die game to advance to the championship round anew.
