Creamline overpowered a high school core-bannered BaliPure-National University, 25-22, 25-18, 25-16, to advance outright in the semifinals of the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Reinforced Conference Saturday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The Cool Smashers buckled down to business early to get the dangerous Water Defenders out of their usual game and control the match on their way to winning their fourth straight for a 5-1 win-loss slate at the solo top spot.
Alyssa Valdez finished with 15 points off 11 attacks and four service aces for Creamline, which nailed 10 service winners and got 26 free points off BaliPure's errors. Thai Kuttika Kaewpin added 10 markers with 11 digs and seven excellent receptions for the Cool Smashers.
“Same thing eh, we took it one game at a time,” said Valdez. “I think maganda ang distribution in today’s game, maganda ang jelling of the team and we worked as a team today.”
Creamline will close the prelims on Wednesday against Iriga-Navy.
BaliPure dropped its second straight game to fall to 3-3 card with American reinforcement Janisa Johnson limited to only 13 points while Alexis Matthews scored 10.
The Water Defenders high school stars Faith Nisperos and Alyssa Solomon were silenced to a combine 14 points.
