PBA basketball actions, excitement and drama is on!

Philippine's leading basketball league is back as the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) kicks-off its the PBA 2019 season on Sunday, January 13 at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.

Four-time defending Philippine Cup champion San Miguel Beermen will be defending their title up against improved teams like Alaska Aces, Barangay Ginebra, TNT KaTropa, Rain or Shine, NLEX, Meralco, Magnolia Hotshots, NorthPort, Columbian Dyip, Pheonix, and Blackwater

The 12 teams all return to fight over the Jun Bernardino trophy for the season-opening All-Filipino conference.

The league will hold a short opening ceremony and as always, the traditional parade of teams and their muses will be one of the highlights of the opening.

The 2019 PBA season will start with the Philippine Cup where top eight teams advance to the quarterfinals after each squad plays 11 games.

The top 2 seeds get a twice-to-beat advantage while teams ranked 3-6 will engage in a best-of-3 series. Standard seven-game rules then apply for the semifinals and finals.

Last year, the Beermen beat TNT KaTropa in Game 5 of the championship series to win its fourth straight PBA Philippine Cup title.
