FIBA World Cup 2014 Group B Preview and Predictions

Hoops fanatics, the wait is almost over! Two more days to go before the kickoff of this year FIBA Basketball World Cup competition in Spain from August 30 to September 14, 2014. Alright, here's a preview and predictions of FIBA World Cup Group B.

Two powerhouse national basketball teams - Argentina and Greece lead the Group B of this tournament. However, another top team in Croatia and dark horse squad Puerto Rico are following the top teams while underdogs Philippines and Senegal aiming to put a show as well.

The Argentines and Greek are two top favorites in this group ranking 3rd and 5th, respectively in the FIBA World Rankings. Although, both teams have gone a long way qualifying to this competition as Argentina finished 3rd in the FIBA Americas continental championship while Greece had to be chosen as a wildcard qualifier after completely struggling in the FIBA Europe continental championship with just 1 win in five games.

Meanwhile, Croatia landed 4th in the 2013 Eurobasket while Puerto Rico finished 2nd in the Americas tourney are legit threat in the Group. The Gilas Pilipinas took silver in the Asian Championship while Senegal bagged bronze in African Championship to qualify for the World Cup.
