San Miguel clawed back from a 15-point deficit to bring down Alaska, 109-96, via a strong second half in the PBA Philippine Cup at Batangas City Coliseum on Saturday.

Marcio Lassiter and Chris Ross combined for 45 points to turn the tables on the Aces for the Beermen's seventh victory in 9 games.

This allowed San Miguel to firm up its position as solo leader in the standings as the elimination round enters its homestretch.

Ross had 24 points to go with his 9 assists and 3 rebounds while Lassiter fired 21 points.

Arwind Santos also had a productive night with 21 points including his signature “Spiderman dunk” in the 1-minute mark of the game.

June Mar Fajardo brought down 18 rebounds besides scoring 17 points.

Alaska had an aggressive start, catching San Miguel flatfooted to go up by 15 points.

But the Beermen unloaded a 15-0 run in the third quarter, thanks to Ross' exploits.

Jayvee Casio led the Aces with 20 points. Alaska also got 15 from Sonny Thoss and 13 each from Vic Manuel and Kevin Racal.

But they failed to deliver in the crucial stretches of the game, leading to Alaska’s 4th loss in 10 starts.
